Court adjourns Nnamdi kanu’s trial till January 19th 2022. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the indeginous people of Biafra Ipob makes his third court appearance since June 2021 when he was arrested by the security agents back to Nigeria from another country.
Kanu arrived the court room just before 10am. But he noticed that the DSS wouldn’t allow one of his counsels from the United States, Bruce Fein to enter the court.
When Kanu was asked by justice Binta Nyako whether he would like to continue the case, He said No unless Bruce Fein who is also a lawyer would be allowed to enter the court room to observe the case. This happened not long before the judge came into the court room and adjourned the case.
The lawyer in charge of kanu’s case reacted differently to this. He said that the court disregards section 36 of the constitution which talks about the right to fair hearing.
The lawyer representing Kanu also said that other lawyers representing Nnamdi Kanu were outside and wouldn’t be allowed into the court room.
The lawyer representing ohaneze ndigbo added that the judge sits independently and that the law states that justice must be served in the presence of all.
