Femi Fani Kayode the former minister of aviation has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Lagos state, over allegations of forgery and manipulations of documents and he’s been questioned and investigated by EFCC.
His arrest was confirmed by the EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren.
In a statement by Fani Kayode, he said he wasn’t arrested but was invited. He flew into Lagos, arrived at their office at 2pm and left at 8pm. “I was granted bail out of self recognition. They were very polite and professional. Thank God”
We recall that in 2016, Fani Kayode was captured by the anti graft agency alongside a former minister of state finance Nenadi Usman on allegations of money laundering and diversion of over N4.9billion fund.
Fani Kayode has been presenting a forged medical report as an excuse to evade his trial at the federal high court.
At the last sitting of the court in October 13. The judge imposed a fine of N200,000 on both Fani Kayode and Usman Nenadi, due to failure to appear before the court.
They were ordered to pay the fine or stand the risk of having his bail revolked.
