FG DECLARES MONDAY 27th, TUESDAY 28th DECEMBER 2021 AND MONDAY 3rd JANUARY 2022 AS PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

FG declares Monday 27th, Tuesday 28th December 2021 as public holiday to mark Christmas The federal government of Nigeria has declared Monday 27th, Tuesday 28th December 2021 and Monday 3rd January 2022 as public holidays to mark Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day celebration respectively.

The declaration was made by the minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola, on behalf of the federal government to Christian’s in Nigeria and in diaspora on this year’s Christmas and New year celebration.

The statement reads

“We must emulate the life of Jesus Christ in his practice and teachings of Humility, Service, Compassion, Patience, Peace and Righteousness, that his birth signifies.

” This will be the best way to portray Christ and celebrate his birth.”

He also said that Christian’s all over the world should pray for the total eradication of insecurity affecting our country, because Peace and Security are two important conditions for economic development and prosperity.

The minister of interior also urged the general public to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 guidance such as social distancing, wearing of face mask, frequent washing of hands with hand sanitizer, soap and water in order to reduce the spread of the virus.
